Wildfire Recovery Project

About the Project: 

This project is made possible through funding provided by the USDA Forest Service. The California Association of Resource Conservation Districts (CARCD) secured the funding, which was awarded to the Western Shasta Resource Conservation District for implementation.

The primary objective of this project is to assess, prioritize, and implement wildfire rehabilitation treatments on private properties in Shasta County affected by the 2019–2021 wildfires. This initiative aims to mitigate the long-term impacts of these wildfires and expedite recovery for the affected communities and ecosystems.

There is no financial obligation to participate in this program. 

Reccomended treatments may include (but are not limited to): 
  • Invasive species removal
  • Native replanting
  • Ladder fuel reduction
  • Brush work / chipping
  • Erosion control
Requirements to participate: 

Properties must be located within the footprint of one of the following fires:

  • Salt
  • Fawn
  • Zogg
How the proccess works: 

1. Apply to the program. 

2. Schedule a site assesment. 

3. Review and approve or deny the reccomended treatment. 

4. Schedule site work implementation.
