The purpose of the erosion inventory
is to identify sediment sources in the watershed that occur on private
land. Objectives include the following: 1) Develop a sediment budget
for the watershed (to be used to develop slide stabilization strategies);
2) identify primary sources of unsuitable sediment delivery and
design projects to minimize those effects; 3) determine when and
how best to implement erosion control projects in a way that will
also protect and/or enhance other watershed resources (fish, wildlife,
recreation, etc.).
The purpose of the fuels inventory is to identify areas of high
fuels levels and of most concern as it relates to the potential
for catastrophic fire, and to identify ways to reduce fuels in the
watershed on private land. Objectives include the following: 1)
Inventory fire hazard potential to determine areas of high, moderate
and low risk; 2) develop a coordinated fuels management to create
a fire atlas and to provide a baseline for future data collection;
and 4) determine locations of where and when to implement fuels
management work on private land, as well as the type of fuels management
(fuelbreak, prescribed burn, etc.), while also protecting and/or
enhancing other watershed resources (fish, wildlife, recreation,
etc.).
