We Work for You

The Western Shasta Resource Conservation District works with many partners, including private landowners, federal, state, and local agencies, and cities throughout Shasta County, water districts, and many others. We work for you and for the natural resources of Shasta County. 

Funded solely and entirely by grants and contracts, the WSRCD has brought over $600 million into Shasta County and completed over 600 projects since its creation in 1957. Our dedicated employees continue to bring money and work into the county and tirelessy seek new opportunities to conserve Shasta County's valuable natural resources.

  • Salmon Habitat Restoration in the Sacramento River

Wetland and Riparian Habitat Restoration

  • Community wildfire protection plans - strategic fuels reduction plans

Site Mitigation

  • Removal of exotic weeds
  • Revegetation

Donate

Conservation Easements

  • Assure that land will be preserved forever in a specific condition, such as open space
  • Prevents any use of the land that would impair or interfere with the conservation values of the preserve
  • Legally binding in perpetuity, regardless of whether the property is sold
