The objective of this agreement is to allow the Western Shasta Resource Conservation District (WSRCD) to continue to implement and expand the spawning gravel augmentation program on Clear Creek by adding gravel at the McCormick-Saeltzer Dam (MSD) and Whiskeytown Dam injection sites. In addition, work will begin expanding the number of injection sites to potentially include the Placer Road Bridge location. The injection of spawning-sized gravel will maintain quality spawning habitat for the production of salmonids.

The WSRCD shall monitor the downstream movement of injected spawning gravel at the MSD, Whiskeytown Dam and Placer Road Bridge gravel injection sites. Monitoring will include both the use of visual observations and the tracking of telemetry devices. The WSRCD shall install approximately 20-40 telemetry devices into various sized spawning gravel and place telemetric rocks at each location. Following rain events, the WSRCD shall conduct field investigations/surveys at each site, determining downstream movement of previously placed tracer gravel using visual observations and locating telemetric rocks using a transceiver.
